The university recognizes the importance of an institution of higher learning to develop and maintain a safe and secure environment in which the academic and social pursuits of its members can be fully realized.

Watkins Memorial Health Center

The center's high-quality, affordable services and innovative programs promote student, campus and community health and support the student's learning experience.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Personal counseling for current students is available, as are psychological testing and psychiatric services. Career counseling and professional test administration are also offered.

Psychological Clinic

The Psychology Department operates this full-service clinic, established in 1952, as part of its graduate training program. Individual adult, adolescent and child, couple, family and group treatments are available, as are crisis intervention and referrals.

KU Recreation Services

A huge new facility on the south edge of campus opened in Fall 2004, offering an indoor climbing wall, gymnasiums, a martial-arts center, racquetball/squash courts and a walking track.

Clery Report on Crime

Statistics are compiled annually by the Office of Public Safety and the Dean of Students Office.

KU Police and Public Safety Office

Police officers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They patrol campus on foot, in marked cars and on bicycles; and provide traffic control during large events.

Personal Safety
